Srinagar, March 16 (KNO) : Valley erupted against the New Zealand mosque massacre in which 49 Muslims were killed in a terrorist attack on Saturday. According to KNO correspondent students of SSM College of engineering assembled inside the campus of college and protested against the killing of Muslims while offering Friday prayers in Christchurch New Zealand. "World should awake towards Islamophobia and the targeting of Muslims on the different pretexts," students said while they marched in the campus. They later offered funeral prayers in absentia for the killed Muslims in the attack. Later a protest march was held in Anantnag district as people rallied against the killing. "Why is world not acting the way they do when non Muslims are killed. Are Muslims a lesser beings? Why are not white supremacists not being cracked down," they said while raising slogans demanding death sentence for those behind the attack. In Srinagar's famous Islamia College students protested on the issue and also against 'continuous harassment of religious leaders in Kashmir by New Delhi'. According to KNO correspondent students raised slogans and marched around the campus. "Government of India should understand that targetting religious leaders and organisation will only confirm that Delhi is against Islam itself," they said, adding that demand ban on Jamat e Islami and NIA summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. “New Delhi should think how to resolve the dispute," they said. In the evening many citizens assembled in Press enclave of Srinagar protesting against the New Zealand massacre.(KNO)
